Show Review & Photos: Simple Plan makes the TLA go BOOM!
Simple Plan entered Philadelphia on their Taking One For The Team Tour at Live Nation's Theatre Of The Living Arts with a SOLD OUT show. Their sold out show was packed out beyond capacity and almost every single fan in attendance was wearing a Simple Plan shirt showing their support. This tour was in celebration and to support their fifth studio album, Taking One For The Team which was released earlier in the year on February 19th.
Simple Plan's live performance was flawless, very minimal production but a huge sound and a very fan interactive live show. Handpicking from 17 years’ worth of back catalogue, this five-piece made sure the setlist best represents the best of Simple Plan’s career including their new material as well. They set up the energy meter so high early in the night with “Opinion Overload”, “Jet Lag”, “Jump” and “I’d Do Anything” making the fans go into a crazy screaming sing along. The Canada natives released their fifth studio album, Taking One for the Team, earlier this year which was also included in their setlist. With singles like “I Don’t Wanna Go to Bed” and “Singing in the Rain” the album was bound to get great reception. The band also played the song that made them famous for saying ‘dick’ on the radio back in 2002 with their song “Addicted” from their debut studio album No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls. And of course, no Simple Plan concert would be complete without hearing their 2002 hit “Perfect” live. There was not one moment where the crowd wasn't singing along, or jumping consistently proving Simple Plan still has got them energy needed to perform live.
It’s rare to see a band who has been together for a long period of time still have all of the original members making music and touring together, but Pierre Bouvier, Jeff Stinco, Sebastien Lefebvre, David Desrosiers, and Chuck Comeau are all still at it together and they will be for a long time to come with their incredible song writing talents, allowing the band to continue putting out hit after hit! Simple Plan’s Taking One for the Team album is out now and you should make sure to pick it up!
