BEYONCE' brought Lemonade To Life, and Makes VMA History at 2016 MTV Video Music Awards
Two years after she took home the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2014 ceremony, the pop superstar stole, Beyoncé the show once again by bringing her 2016 visual album, Lemonade, to life at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.
Kicking off her Lemonade live performance segment with the "Pray You Catch Me," Beyoncé appeared on stage draped in a white cape and jewelry as she serenaded Madison Square Garden, soon to be surrounded by her signature squad of notable women. Just like the original album, Beyoncé showed no signs of slowing down as she quickly changed costumes and whipped out her bat to belt "Hold Up" while smashing the video camera. Then that track was followed by an emotional charged "Sorry" complete with the controversial topper, "You better call Becky with the good hair" and sealed with a kiss from the Queen. After setting the stage on literal fire and warning the audience with "Don't Hurt Yourself," she brought the performance home with her hit anthem, "Formation" surrounded by dozens of dancers arranged in the "woman" symbol. "If y'all came to slay, sing along with me," she requested. Following a mandatory mic drop, the performance was met with a well-deserved standing ovation from the famous New York City crowd.

With a career-best 11 nominations in store, the 34-year-old pop superstar walked the white carpet alongside her only child, daughter Blue Ivy Carter; As well as the Mothers of Eric Garner, Trayvon Martin, Mike Broken, & Oscar Grant at the 2016 VMA's.
Beyoncé is now tied with Madonna and Taylor Swift for the most wins in the Best Female Video category — each of them now have three (Bey previously won for "Crazy In Love" and "Naughty Girl"). Beyoncé has broken the all-time record for most wins at the MTV Video Music Awards. She surpasses Madonna, who previously held the record with 20 total Moonmen, with her 21st win. Beyoncé’s wins include the show’s highest honor, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 2014, as well as tonight’s wins for Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Choreography, Breakthrough Long Form Video, Best Female Video, and Video of the Year (for “Formation”).
