Blink182

Just 20 minutes after tickets for blink-182’s, June 23rd show at Sands Event Center in Bethlehem, PA went on sale, all 3,700 tickets were gone showing the anticipation for Blink's return to Pennsylvania. This show not only selling out but making history as the fastest show to sell out in all of The Sands Event Center's existence. blink-182 brought along Hawthorne Heights to this show to open up the evening at about 7pm playing a brief 11-song set which however was very fufilling for their fans and a very welcoming intro for blink-182's set afterwards.

blink-182 consisting of original members Mark Hoppus on Bass & Co-Lead Vocals, Travis Barker on Drums and Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba in Tom DeLonge spot on Co-Lead Vocals and guitar. The 23-song set was only about an hour and a half long, as if they had something to prove to their fans– and in fact they did, after replacing their founding co-vocalist, and guitarist Tom DeLonge a year ago. blink-182 came back stronger then they have ever been with Skiba on vocals for DeLonge. A lot of fans going into the show skeptical about hearing Skiba play blink-182's classic hits and more but leaving a huge fan of the new frontman as he did a flawless job belting out the lyrics to not only the new blink songs but also their classic hits at times sounding better then DeLonge. blink-182 gave something for every fan to enjoy rather your a new or fan from the beginning you heard the song or songs you wanted to hear with a beautifully blending setlist featuring hits like "Whats My Age Again?," "Dumpweed," "All The Small Things," off their third studio album which launched their career into stardom, Enema Of The State. As well as playing a lot of their hits off their forth studio album, Take Off your Pants and Jacket like "First Date," "The Rock Show," "Stay Together For The Kids," and surprisingly "Happy Holidays, You Bastard." Mixing in three of their newest singles "Bored To Death," "Built This Pool," and "Brohemian Rhapsody," off their upcoming album California to be released on the 182nd day of the year, July 1st, 2016. Also including a few songs off their Self-titled album, Dude Ranch, and Neighborhoods. There was a tune in their setlist for every fan especially focused on the diehard fans who know all of their music would be thrilled by this setlist containing all of their favorites. Their set can be described as forceful, flawless, very entertaining, and furious as their return stronger their ever expected conquered the Sands Event Center making history. Skiba proving his vocal and guitarist abilities and talents to the fans this evening with an extraordinary set and his vocals sounding great and at times better then DeLonge. The only thing missing from their set was DeLonge's humor and crazy chats with the band and fans on stage during the show, however without that blink-182 is able to give the fans a longer more music filled set containing a lot more songs. The band closed their set with “Carousel,” the first song ever written by blink-182. The encore then opening with blink-182’s biggest hit, “All the Small Things,” which was not only mind blowing but stronger than I have ever heard it played. Closing out what was an incredible evening with “Dammit,” as the crowd was showered in red and white confetti.

blink-182's performance was surprisingly very solid, intense, fierce and actually flawless, blink-182 easily gave us one the best concerts this year, and the best blink-182 show any of the audience in PA has seen since at least when the band reunited in 2009 or in more than 15 years, since the band last played in our area in Allentown, PA in 1999. It was a very rewarding set for the more than 3,700 people who packed this show out in April made this show the venue’s fastest sellout in history, as mentioned previously. blink-182's headlining tour with A Day To Remember, All American Rejects, and All Time Low hits the road shortly and this is a tour package you do not want to miss, get tickets to your show date now although most of them are already sold out at: www.blink182.com
