Good Charlotte 2016 #WelcomeBackGC #YouthAuthority #GoodCharlotte #JoelMadden #BenjiMadden #SOLDOUT #TLAPhilly #TLA #Philadelphia #PHILLY

After a five year hiatus, pop punk favorites Good Charlotte have returned with new music, a new full length album titled, Youth Authority (Releasing in July 2016) and a string of small shows to celebrate with their fans. Philadelphia being the first stop of this small string of shows as Philadelphia holds a special place in Good Charlotte's hearts, as Philadelphia was the first city to play them on the radio on Y100, had fans attending their shows, and believing in them to become the successful band they are today. Selling out the TLA on South Street beyond capacity with their most dedicated fans and lucky fans who scored a ticket as this show sold out in minutes of tickets going on sale. This highly anticipated moment of seeing Good Charlotte perform live and coming back from their brief hiatus was a huge success for Good Charlotte. "Pop Punk is not dead, It was just taking a nap" as mentioned by Joel Madden of Good Charlotte at this extraordinary and very intimate show as the TLA is a smaller sized venue and Good Charlotte can be playing huge arenas/theaters at this point in their career as they are a favorite and a staple in the pop punk music scene.

The brief tour kicked of Monday night at The sold out TLA in Philadelphia and as mentioned Philadelphia is a city that holds a special place for Waldorf, Maryland pop punk band, Good Charlotte. The band opened with The Anthem which lit the TLA fans on fire! Their fans missed them and are anxiously awaiting their new album Youth Authority to be released July 15th of this year. A notable and incredible moment was not only that everyone in the crowd sang along louder then I have ever heard at a show to every song, but that they also sang along to the two new unreleased songs with just as much passion already knowing every lyrics to "MakeShift Love" & "40oz Dream". The bands energetic performance was contagious energizing the fans but both feeding off each others energy as the band was going just a crazy as the fans in attendance. One thing that I notice most about this band is their positive attitude and motivational lyrics and how they really do encourage others to have a similar positive outlook on life. The Madden Brothers, Joel and Benji, both having the same if not perfected vocals like that they have 5 years ago. The show was definitely a pleasant blend of all of Good Charlotte's discography including their not yet released album Youth Authority, Self Titled, The Chronicles of Life and Death, & Good Morning Revival. Good Charlotte's explosive hour and a half performance everything a Good Charlotte fan could hope for and a blend of all their hits. The pure enjoyment fans had at hearing the classics such as "Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous" as well as "Girls & Boys" and "The Anthem". Even "The River" makes an appearance, which was flawless and surprisingly superb without the voices of M Shadows and Synyster Gates of Avenged Sevenfold.

Overall, Performance-wise the energy was very high and it felt like the band had never even left. The fans enjoyed every single moment of their performance. Their album Youth Authority coming out July 15th, 2016 as mentioned is going to be a huge success bringing Good Charlotte back into the limelight of their Pop punk music scene as the two songs already released "40 oz Dream" & "Makeshift Love" are already anthems in the scene. Good Charlotte are on a select few dates of the 2016 Vans Warped Tour and are very excited to get back out and play music as well as telling everyone that they would be back on tour in the fall which will return to Philadelphia! So stay tuned on their tour announcement's assuringly is coming soon as they mentioned. Expect them to play a lot of their new music on Warped Tour. Get stoked for their new album Youth Authority as they said "you will all love it, it is one of our favorite albums and it has a lot meaning in it." The TLA was a really special part of Good Charlotte's history as they mentioned multiple times during their set making even more history with another Sold Out show at the TLA and one of their first shows since their comeback in the USA.
