REVIEW: Lady Antebellum Own The Night at The Final Night Of Wheels Up Tour
Lady Antebellum’s Wheels Up Tour rolled into Camden, NJ/Philadelphia, PA last night, September 19th which featured Hunter Hayes and Sam Hunt as Lady A’s opening acts. This being the final show of the tour and a SOLD OUT show, we were guaranteed an incredible night closing out the tour with a bang! Not only was this this final show of Lady A’s tour but also the final show of The Susquehanna Bank Center’s till next summer.
Sam Hunt was the first to hit the stage at Susquehanna Bank Center. Newcomer to the country scene but exploding onto the charts and rapidly gaining fame and success; Rocketing to the top of the country scene was, Sam Hunt. Sam has his own sound, style and talent, and he amped up the crowd’s energy by 100% everyone in the amphitheater was on their feet singing along and dancing. Sam who is hard to stick into one category as his sound is unique to himself, It is difficult to put him into just one genre. If I had to compare his sound to someone, it would have to be a mixture of Drake and Luke Bryan. Hunt released his debut breakout album, Montevallo, back in October of 2014 and became the first country singer in 22 years to hit No. 1 on 3 genre charts simultaneously.
Hunter Hayes hit the stage next, and is this guy has talent. Hunter not only plays a variety of instruments during his performance and still stays engaged with the audience. Hunter opened with his single “Tattoo” and performed songs off his past records including “Everybody’s Got Somebody But Me” and “I Want Crazy”. Things got a little slow during the middle of his set when he opted to play a couple of slower, less well known songs. He did grab the audience back when he sat down to play “Invisible” at the piano. “I Got Crazy”closed the set and was his best performance of the night. The audience went wild for the song and it was obvious how much Hunter and his band loved to play it. Throughout his 12-set performance, Hunter Hayes showcased his musical talents on vocals and instruments, switching from guitar to the mandolin for songs like “Storyline” and serenading the crowd on piano to his Grammy-nominated ballad “Wanted” and “Invisible” as mentioned.
Nine years and six records in, the Lady Antebellum trio of Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott prove they can still put on an incredible show and draw the country crowds in; Selling Out The Susquehanna Bank Center which holds 7,000+. Hillary, Charles, and Dave lit the crowd on fire from the moment they sauntered on stage. The trio is fantastic live and whipped through a number of their hits. Whenever one wasn’t singing he or she was signing autographs, taking selfies with fans, and filming concert footage on fan’s phones. Lady Antebellum’ planned and developed an extraordinary production with powerful visual elements to accompany each song played. The Grammy-winning group put on a show we won't soon forget, giving every single fan in the SOLD OUT Susquehanna Bank Center a show they will always remember. If you didnt get out to see The Wheels Up Tour, you definitley missed out on an incredible production and a very talented group of musicians. Lady Antebellum is going on a much-deserved hiatus as they wrapped up their Wheels Up Tour in Camden, NJ.
