VAN HALEN Cause An Eruption in Camden, NJ

CAMDEN, NJ (August 27th, 2015)— Thousands of Van Halen fans assembled at Susquehanna Bank Center on Thursday evening to catch the one of their first North American tours since 2012. Hard-rock band, Van Halen currently consisting of Eddie Van Halen on Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals, his brother Alex Van Halen on Drums, and his son Wolfgang Van Halen on Bass/Backing Vocals, and of course David Lee Roth on Lead Vocals. Playing a 2 hour long, 26 song set with drum & guitar solos proves that Van Halen still got it. This being only the second show since their cancelled show in Hershey, PA, due to David Lee Roth’s illness. Which I was a bit skeptical of his vocals due to the illness but he was on point all night, not missing a note!

Beginning the night was Kenny Wayne Shepherd band. Kenny Wayne Shepherd an extraordinary guitarist ripping through his brief 7 song very memorable set due to his incredible skill and talent of playing guitar. The unique Riffs and solo’s put out by Kenny and the vocals belted out by vocalist Noah Hunt. During his blistering set of his Renowned bluesy rock music. Charismatic frontman, Noah Hunt seemed like he was genuinely enjoying himself, whether he was dancing with his mic stand or commanding the audience, jamming with his guitar, or on shaking the tambourine, he always had a beaming smile on his face. Kenny jamming on his Guitar whilst also interacting with the rest of the band on stage. Kenny Wayne Shepherd was definitely a very pleasant start to the evening of Rock n Roll.

Opening with the powerhouse "Light Up the Sky,” as David Lee Roth aka Diamond Dave glided across the stage towards the crowd for a unique entrance to the stage decked out in his sparklingly Black and Black Sequined Suit Jacket. The band then charged into "Runnin' with the Devil" and "Romeo Delight.” Stoping the show in the middle of “Romeo Delight” to fix audio issues at the Soundboard on stage, then returning to the show saying “Only The Best For You Baby, We’re Not Gonna Fuck Around On The Side Here…” Getting right back into the song starting from the top. Diamond Dave, who rotated through a rainbow of sparkling outfits at Susquehanna Bank Center, very flashy, colorful costume changes about 4-5 times throughout the night. With his fresh colorful very detailed Japanese tattoos peeking from beneath his sleeveless black vest, the 60-year-old did his best to wow the crowd with his unique attire.

Before Entering into “Dirty Movies” a fan threw a beer up on stage in which then Diamond Dave stopped the show to have it cleaned up and to say “Now in my younger days, I would've promised to have slept with his girlfriend. At this point in my career, the most insult most fucked comment I could make to this guy is that I’ve probably already have slept with his wife.” then telling the lady “Could you control that motherfucker sweetheart, I’ll talk to you later.” & “Next time you save the beer for me you slut.” going right into “Dirty Movies”. Which in this song you could hear the pleasant combination of Eddie & Wolfgang Van Halen’s Vocals and bass/guitars. Then going into “Ice Cream Man (A John Brim Cover),” “Unchained,” & “Ain’t Talkin’ Bout Love.” Just then the stage fading to black and only illuminating Eddie Van Halen for the much enjoyed Guitar Solo which all Van Halen fans look forward to at a Van Halen show in which Eddie delivered a blistering guitar solo. He exhibits skill and flare during this face melting solo. Ending their set with their explosive hits “Panama” & “Jump” which had the crowd erupting in song screaming the lyrics right back.
