Hozier Takes Philly To Church
PHILADELPHIA — On March 7th, 2015; The Electric Factory filled beyond the maximum capacity for a very well liked, and currently in high demand vocalist, Hozier. Hozier came to town to play a very unique one of a kind show. The crowd was a wide variety of people in attendance from older to young, & all races. Irelands’ own Hozier, also known as Andrew Hozier-Byrne didn't need much to totally impress the crowd. Backed by a seven-piece mixed gender band, in front of the beyond sold out Electric Factory crowd, Hozier already had pure acceptance the moment he walked out on to the stage. Grammy Nominee, & Billboard Chart topper Hozier had grasp the crowds attention from the beginning to the end of his very unique set in which he demanded the crowd like no other. His deep, soulful voice filled the venue along with the entire crowd singing every word to every single song just a loud. The entire crowd captivated by Hozier’s unique vocals and style of music. Hozier unable to remove the huge smile on his face in amazement from the crowds response to his performance. Hozier unable to control how massive his single “Take Me to Church” has become and desperate to establish himself as more than just a one-hit wonder by performing all of his songs off his self titled debut album, Hozier. Before going into the more popular hits during his encore off his EP, Take Me To Church. The most impressive element about the concert was Hozier's simplistic approach to performance, with such little flare he was able to captivate the entire venue. This was one of the first concerts I’ve been to where I am actually able to say that little to none of the crowd was on their cell phone during Hoziers’ performance as he just mesmerized the crowds attention with every single song he played. With a mixed setlist there was a song for everyone to love to grow to love, ending his set with his biggest hit “Take Me To Church” before returning to the stage for his 4 song encore, Which included “Cherry Wine”, “Run”, Covering one of Ariana Grande’s biggest hits “Problem” which was beyond belief extraordinary putting his own twist to the song & lastly ending the show with “Work Song”. Modest and sincere, Hozier didn't act like he's in a rush to grace big stages although he is very deserving of a much bigger stage. Hozier conquered The Electric Factory crowd and will be returning to our area on May 10th for the Radio 104.5 Birthday Show celebration at The Susquehanna Bank Center which is already sold out! Get out to a Hozier show you will not be disappointed!
