Real Friends - Loose Ends (Song Review)

“Loose Ends” is the first single from Chicago pop-punk quintet, Real Friends’ new album Maybe This Place is the Same and We’re Just Changing. The CD will be available July 22nd and available for pre-order. The song is very catchy, basically what one would think of when they hear the name ‘pop-punk’. Frontman Dan Lambton’s vocals are raw and rough; the track sounds like it’s not been over produced and autotuned to death, something we don’t see much of. Kyle Fasel’s bass line is also great (I’m a sucker for a good bass line) and is one of my favorite components of the song. Maybe This Place is the Same and We’re Just Changing will be their first studio recorded album, however Real Friends are no strangers to when it comes to recording, they have released 4 EPs since 2011. Currently, they are one of the Vans Warped Tour’s artists to watch, and I’ve see nothing but praise and adoration for these guys; mostly seeing that they’re bringing true pop-punk back to the masses.

Rating: 4/5- I freaking love it. It’s exactly how pop-punk should sound. It takes me back to when I was in high school and going to local shows. Oh memories. It’s a wonderful song, very catchy and upbeat, and will probably get stuck in your head after you listen to it the first time or two (which will turn into like 500). I’m very excited to see these guys on Warped this year as well! I can’t wait! Be sure to pre-order your copy of their album today!
