Eli Young Band Winter Tour 2015/2016

The Denton, Texas based multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated country rockers, “Eli Young Band” who are no strangers to success. Featuring vocalist Mike Eli, guitarist James Young, bassist Jon Jones and drummer Chris Thompson, the foursome has taken painstaking efforts, since releasing their 2002 self-titled debut album, to solidify their musical presence. Playing to a nearly sold out Theatre Of The Living Arts in Philadelphia on Veterans Day kickin’ off their winter leg of tour. Starting with “Drink You Up” fresh off their March 2015 chart-topping debut of their latest EP, Turn It On (released via Republic Records). Going right into their infectious new single “Turn It On,” which has an up-tempo, monster hook that instantly grasps your attention and began singing along after just one listen. With a solid core of radio hits and quality songwriting, the guys in Eli Young Band are an experienced and confident group who can always be counted on to put on an amazing show for their fans. The crowd was couples singing to each other, guys and gals throwing back beer after beer, hands up, dancing and singing along and having a good ole time. Any good country concert includes several well-known covers, and Eli Young Band didn’t disappoint with their own renditions of Garth Brooks’ “Thunder Rolls,” David Lee Murphy’s “Dust On The Bottle,” and then venturing into the pop genre with a cover of Andy Grammar’s “Honey I’m Good.” Their 90-minute, 15-song set list added included top hit songs from their past 5 albums, also including 3 number one’s “Crazy Girl,” “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” and “Drunk Last Night.” Throwing back beer after beer, singing along and just having a good ole time, the audience was really diggin’ the music and the band seemed to feed off their constant energy; It was certainly something to see. Eli Young Band have come a long way and this Nearly Sold Out performance was just a view into just how big they’ve become. Great way to kick off their winter tour.
