Brett Eldredge sings his new song “Drunk on Your Love” like a man in love. His performance is bold and convincing. Vocally, this singer rarely misses, but his storytelling is particularly strong on this second single from Illinois. Ross Copperman helped Eldredge write the love song. The first verse is familiar (perhaps too familiar), but the chorus and second verse paint a great picture of the hot scene this 29-year-old is tangled up in.

“It’s not the whiskey, tequila or the wine / It’s all about the touch and the fire in your eyes / It gets fumbling, always stumbling through a haze / I got plenty to do just laying here with you all day,” Eldredge sings before the memorable chorus: “I woke up, up / Still drunk, drunk / On your love, love / On your love, love, love / Now I know why, why, why / I’m feeling so high, high / Because I’m still drunk / On your love, on your love.”

The idea of being drunk on one’s love is hardly new to the format, but Eldredge’s interpretation is no less sincere for it. The song aims right down the middle of what fans and radio have come to expect from the crooner, and it should easily become another big hit.
