Introduce yourself & how you started within the music industry?
Ty March, I used to play drums in a heavy metal band for the past 2 years touring the US, that's what initially got me into the music industry.
What made you go from being a drummer for a quite popular metal band to becoming a solo Country Musician?
I starting falling out of metal the deeper I got into the scene and realized that this is not where I'm meant to be. I grew up on country music as a kid, while I was on tour all these great country song ideas started randomly popping in my head and I'd voice memo them on my phone every time I thought of a new one. Over time I realized that this was happening for a reason and that country music is my calling.
What made you change your genre of music from Metal to Country?
My heart wasn't in heavy music anymore. I rebelled from country music for awhile because thats all my parents played in the car when I was a kid. I guess you could say that I went back to my roots on this one.
Was the decision to quit Capture The Crown & follow your dreams to be a country musician, hard to do?
No, I was ready to follow my heart.
You recently released your first full length cover song in a music video. You covered Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party”, What made you decide to cover this song?
My friend Eli suggested it, I already knew all the words and knew It would be something that I could do on the fly. The acoustic video was a last minute idea.
Which you can check out here:
You have a new single soon to be released, What is the name of this single & when can we expect it to be released?
It's called "It's Finally Friday" and it was released this past Friday (January 30th 2015)! Haha.
You're currently unsigned. Would you say it is harder or easier to release music without a label behind you and why?
I'm appreciating every step involved in bettering myself and pushing myself in a positive direction. Just stoked overall. So I'd say what I'm doing now is just going with the flow and trying my best to make good things happen
How would you describe yourself within the Pop Country music industry?
Fresh, brand new, but driven to succeed.
Do you feel that your music will make a difference within the Genre?
Yeah. I feel like I have something different to bring to the table, songwriting and image wise.
Do you think fans you had in Capture The Crown will continue to follow your Country music?
Not quite sure, but a lot of them seem to respect what I'm doing and I have been getting a lot of compliments from Metal fans. Thanks guys :).
